adverb vs adjectives

Adjectives

Adjectives describe nouns (things).
  • My dog is slow.
Slow is an adjective since it describes thenoun (my dog).
  • How is my dog? Slow

Adverbs

Adverbs describe verbs (actions).
  • My dog eats slowly.
Slowly is an adverb since it describes the way my dog eats.
  • How does my dog eat? Slowly.

Some adverbs are used to modify anadjective.
Adverbs that do this are: very, extremely, really, totally, absolutely, quite, fairly, well. These are normally placed before the adjective.
  • He is very rich.
  • They are extremely happy.
  • She was totally crazy.
  • My dog is well trained.

Perbedaan antara Adjective dan Adverb

ADJEKTIVE adalah suatu kata yang menerangkan noun (kata benda) ataupronoun (kata ganti)
a. Noun (kata benda)
     - The class is good                    = kelas itu bagus
     - My books are thick                = buku saya tebal
     - This is big building                  = ini adalah sebuah gedung yang besar

      penjelasannya
   
      good menerangkan clausa
      thick menerangkan book
      big     menerangkan building

b. Pronoun (kata benda)

   - he is clever      =  ia pandai
   - she is beatiful   =  ia cantik
   - they are diligent   =  mereka rajin

     penjelasannya

     clever  menerangkan he

     beautiful menerangkan she

     diligent menerangkan   they


ADVERB   adalah suatu kata yang menerangkan verb ,adjective, adverb yang lain atau seluruh kalimat

a. verb (kata kerja)
- he is working hard = ia bekerja keras
- the train run quickly  =  kereta api cepat larinya
- she spaks loudly      = ia berbicara keras


penjelasan

hard        menerangkan  working

quickly    menerangkan  runs

loudly     menerangkan   speaks
